this free, super easy knitting hat pattern is great for learning circular knitting & decreases — once you get the hang of joining without a twist this hat is so wonderfully easy, you can finish one in a couple of TV evenings. This version is written for our Targhee 2 ply yarn, but can be adapted to many different yarns by adjusting number of cast on stitches (in increments of 8).
Yarn: 1 skein of Targhee 2 ply yarn, but more fun if you get two colors and do color blocking
Sizes: approximately 15.75" (17.5, 19.25, 21, 22.75, 24.5, 26.25") / 40cm (44.5, 49, 53, 58, 62, 67 cm) circumference (babies up to men)

This knitting pattern designed by Laura Chau is a fun opportunity to pair a beautiful handpainted yarn with a coordinating solid color. The simple garter stitch lace pattern opens up the fabric and biases naturally for an interesting parallelogram shape. It’s worked lengthwise on a circular needle to accommodate the large number of stitches. The scarf version uses just one skein of each color; the generously-sized wrap uses two skeins of each color.
