We are part of the story of American Wool today
Wild Fibers is a wonderful, beautiful magazine that tells stories about people and animals and fiber from all over the world. Sue and I both have been subscribers for many years and love it. I love the photography. You should subscribe!
This Winter they put out their 10th Anniversary issue (congratulations!) and this time Wild Fibers looks at American wool. In general it is a sad story, similar to other American agriculture stories about the decline of the big wool industry. But there are spots of optimism and new thinking that hold out hope for sheep here in America and we are part of the story (Solitude Wool starts on pg 52). But the big part of the optimism is for YOU, you knitters, spinners, weavers and felters that are paying attention to what you are buying and where it comes from and care about supporting American small farms. You are providing a market for the great wool our sheep grow. THANK YOU!!!!!
